Hi everyone!
I'm an English teacher, musician and traveler from Gloucester, England. I'm 35 years old, and I have been living in Kyiv, Ukraine since late 2015. I studied music at university, and I have a T.E.F.L certificate. I flew to Tbilisi in early January 2022 - I really love your country, and I'm waiting to return to Ukraine to help them rebuild everything until after the war is over, therefore I'm looking for some more teaching work here. The reason I chose Georgia was because of all the amazing things Ukrainian people always told me about it, and it all turned out to be true. Also, I knew that Georgians love Ukrainian people and vice versa, so it just felt right.
I have a huge amount of classroom and online teaching experience with Ukrainians, and before teaching English, I used to teach bass guitar in England at a rock school in Brighton, England. I was teaching English online during the pandemic: - I'm still teaching Ukrainian children and adults there. In Tbilisi I have been working at Free School, The IQ Centre and the Georgian School by Avlabari metro station.
English lessons:
I specialise with accent removal, helping students with reading, writing, explaining new words, fixing bad habits, improving confidence with speaking, correcting grammatical mistakes and I can even translate into Ukrainian or Russian if and when it's necessary. Before the pandemic I worked in kindergartens with elementary level English students, as well as with children and adults of different ages and abilities in Kyiv. I know a lot of funny kids songs, and I can also bring my guitar to lessons.
I have excellent references, I really take pride in my work and I love seeing my students improve. I always compose emails with notes for group or individual lessons, and then we read through them at the start of the next lesson. I encourage them to write everything down too. This helps my students to remember everything, and helps them to see where they need to improve too.
Prices for 1 hour lessons: - I charge $20 for individual lessons and $30 for group classes.
